A railroad that plays a part
Wyldwood is a town you will not find on a map: a western movie backlot somewhere in Southern California where 1960s film crews dressed sets to play the late 1880s through the 1920s, and where the railroad never stopped running. We carry that layered time-trick into garden railroading: a southwestern town that reads as a living film set, with real steam and mid-century diesel running through it side by side.
Two eras, one backlot
Mid-century production trappings — sun-bleached facades, dusty props, painted signage — framing a steam-era railroad. The layout isn't a pristine catalog diorama; it's a working set, weathered where the desert says it should be.
What happens here
Rolling stock designed and printed in the workshop, built to run outdoors behind the big articulateds. Layout film and stills from the backlot. And more projects we'll talk about when they're ready for their close-up.
